September 20th, 2011

Current rating: 5/5

Peter is a Senior Reporter for Global Money Management and IISearches. He is originally from Edinburgh, but now lives in Bermondsey with his partner. He enjoys skiing, football and racquet sports, as well as good music, film and a bit of culture now and then.

We asked Peter:

How would you rate your own financial awareness?

Fairly sentient; it has improved immeasurably in the year or so I’ve been working in the industry.

When it comes to your finances, do you live for today or plan for tomorrow?

I like to think I’m still at an age when I can get away with some financial recklessness, but I do top up my ISA every year and have recently joined the company pension scheme.

What is your attitude to financial risk?

I’m naturally quite a cautious person, but I understand that I’m near the start of my saving and investing career, so now is the time to take some risks.

Do you have a golden rule when it comes to your finances?

Not really, I tend to avoid anything I find unduly complicated and seemingly untested, but generally I’m quite pragmatic.

How important, do you think it is to start financial education in schools?

As with just about everything, if we really want to improve the ills of society, the best place to start is with education from as young as possible.
