Louise Winstanley, HR Manager, A&N Media

September 9th, 2011

Current rating: 5/5

Louise is one of the HR Managers at A&N Media, with responsibility for Reward & Projects.  She is married with two children and lives in west London. She has a world record for running the marathon dressed as a schoolgirl.

We asked Louise:

If you won the lottery what would be the first three things you would do with the money?

Buy champagne, pay off the mortgage and pay for some independent financial advice.

Are you an optimist or pessimist when it comes to your finances?

Since leaving university I’ve managed to live within my means, so I guess that makes me a realist.

What has been your biggest saving when renewing an insurance policy?

Over a number of years I saw my car insurance decrease substantially.  I drive a 13 year old car and insure it through one of the companies aimed at women.  I suspect my low premiums may be coming to an end though...

Best money saving tip?

Buy things second hand. I have young children and have saved thousands of pounds by buying second hand baby equipment, toys and children’s clothes.  Many of these items don’t get much use and they are grown out of so quickly. It also saves items ending up in landfill.
