Teresa is Time for money's Editor. She is married with one child. She loves playing the piano, singing and skiing (but not all at the same time!).

We asked Teresa:

If you won the lottery what would be the first three things you would do with the money? This is something I spend no time thinking about as I don't do the lottery. If I did I would help out family and friends, travel extensively and set up some kind of charitable initiative.

Are you an optimist or pessimist when it comes to your finances? I'd like to think that I'll have enough to live on when I retire.

What has been your biggest saving when renewing an insurance policy? I must confess that I don't spend a huge amount of time when it comes to renewing insurance. I don't really use price comparison sites as I can't be bothered with all the small print and the differing terms and conditions which means you really can't compare like with like. I do use them for savings accounts though as these are more straightforward. I didn't make any saving when I switched home and buildings contents to my mortgage provider but I did get peace of mind as the policy is quite extensive  - my previous policy had so many restrictions that I thought they would never pay out in the event of a claim!

Who do you think are the heroes and villains in the financial market? Definite villains are the commission-grabbers who recommend policies only because of their bung. Other villains are those that try to encourage people to rack up debts (although we all have to take some responsibility and try to live within our means).
