The new addition to my card family

November 11th, 2010

Current rating: 5/5

To celebrate our anniversary my husband and I decided to book a 4 night trip to New York.  It may sound extravagant but we managed to pick up some cheap flights and I have a friend who is currently seconded to her New York office so we would pay nothing for our accommodation.  The only thing that worried us was the exchange rate.

A friend recommended we take out a currency top-up card.  They work the same as the usual credit card or debit card but you get a much better rate of exchange.  I was a bit sceptical but after looking into it further we couldn't really see any negatives so decided to take one out.

My husband now thinks that because of the better rate we should do our friends and family Christmas shopping stateside.  Me, I am thinking I can get a matching purse with my new Dior handbag.
