Car higher costs

Remember that triumphant pioneering feeling when, in preparation for your holiday, you have managed to land a really good price for the hire car, having spent the best part of two hours online in the process.  Remember also how that good feeling dissipates as you walk away from the Sunshine Autos car hire desk at a stifling Mediterranean airport wondering why you appear to have paid almost twice the amount in that fantastic online deal all those months ago.  Why is that…..?

Car hire probably has more purchasing options than almost any other transaction - it’s probably simpler to choose how you want your eggs cooked in a New York deli!  What car hire firms rely on is ‘get away pressure' - you just want to get out of the airport into the car and start your holiday so you’ll agree to any add-on, extra driver, collision damage waiver, child seat (your children have grown up and are at home!), satnav and ski rack (this is a beach holiday!).

Wouldn’t it be a whole lot better if the online deal included everything that you’re likely to need so you don’t have to make these crazy and expensive decisions when you’re in a rush and in the wrong frame of mind.  Why can’t the hire car industry do that……?”
