Simon is a senior manager in IT. He is single and owns his own house.
Simon has taken out an offset mortgage which has a very low interest rate. This means that he is able to increase his mortgage borrowings and make a profit if he can invest the money elsewhere at a higher interest rate.
"I want to make money out of my mortgage provider and am looking for a relatively risk-free investment which will give me a higher return, after tax, than the interest rate I pay on my mortgage" said Simon.
